The Lessines site has been in operation for almost 50 years and specializes in immunoglobulin purification with filling and packaging capabilities for plasma-derived therapies. It is also a packaging center for products used to treat blood disorders.
The site’s workforce strives to reflect the diversity of the patients it serves. With over 15 different nationalities, the sites’ employees are working tirelessly serving patients with rare diseases and other specialized conditions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Takeda acts for the Planet, in fact:
- We installed 8000 solar panels that will produce 3GWh per year, equivalent to the annual consumption of 700 families.
- The new wastewater recycling facility will reduce city water consumption by 90% by 2023, equivalent to 600 million liters of water per year.
- The new waste storage facility will reduce container transport by 2,500 km per year, equivalent to 13 tons of CO2 per year.
- The goal for 2030 is to be a carbon-free site.
