RMA provides a stimulating international work environment with cutting-edge facilities and one-of-a-kind research topics. RMA welcomes a diverse researchers population, coming from Belgium and abroad with a wide variety of backgrounds.

Given the unique research subjects handled at RMA, researchers have the opportunity to develop a unique and extremely valuable expertise not only for research but also for Defence and industry.

Researchers are highly encouraged to publish and disseminate the results of their research in scientific journals, international conferences and workshops. The valorisation of their research through industrial collaborations, patenting and generally protecting the valorisable results of the research is also strongly encouraged.

RMA can grant PhD’s in Engineering Sciences and PhD’s in Social and Military Sciences. Both require at least 3 years of research and the completion of a doctoral training. PhD research is systematically conducted in cotutelle with another University in Belgium or abroad, which means successful PhD candidates get either a double degree or a joint degree.
